The formal development of this work fosters the relationship between the author and the readers, who are called to contribute to the photographic narrative through their imagination. This led to a series of photographs and texts that differ for content and composition, according to the variety of experiences I came across. There are moments of daily exoticism, grands travaux, domestic violence, history and the legacy of Haile Selassie. Far away from the construction of an African stereotype or a carnet de voyage, this work proposes a narrative that underpins all the photographs, though each image is self-conclusive. The photographs are intended to construct a context and the narrative is conceived in the form of the open text, which enhances the role of the reader.
